Sourcing volunteers can be a difficult task for groups to do individually, requiring considerable resources. Your support of Volunteer Wellington will assist us to continue to facilitate the efficient process of sourcing and referring more people to our member organisations and making our communities stronger and more vibrant.
Community Law helps with all kinds of legal problems, from employment, family and housing issues to criminal matters, human rights and Māori land. Legal problems can be serious and frightening, and everyone has the right to high-quality legal help – that’s where Community Law comes in. Community Law is often the first port of call for someone who may have never dealt with the legal system before. A number of our lawyers support Community Law, regularly volunteering their time.
Tawa College Junior A Football has hit the ground running this season. The team played five pre-season matches, which were all wins, which ensured that the team was well prepared for the initial round of grading games (5 matches). The team won 2, drew two and lost one.
This result secured the team a place in the Junior Premier Grade (Top 8 ), along with Scots, Wellington College, St Pats Town & Stream.
This is the business end of the competition, with the top 2 teams playing off for the Vaughan Coveny Cup.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the season for the lads will be the Hillsdene Tournament in Tauranga, which runs over four days at the end of August and involves most of the prestigious north island colleges.
