About the role
JB Morrison is seeking an experienced Property Lawyer with 2-3 years PQE. Join our team led by Partner, Tessa Doherty, in the vibrant Wellington CBD. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment. As a Property Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic legal advice and representation to our diverse client base.
What you’ll be doing:

Advising clients on a broad range of property transactions, including acquisitions and disposals

Drafting, negotiating and settling a vast range of property transactions (residential, commercial, industrial, rural)

Involvement on commercial leasing matters, including drafting and negotiating leases, variations, renewals, and assignments

Working on property development matters, including structure, subdivisions, due diligence, and title issues

Providing clear, practical advice directly to clients and maintaining strong client relationships
-
Contributing to business development, client and internal presentations, and knowledge sharing within the firm
What we’re looking for:

A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification, with admission to the bar in New Zealand

A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in Commercial Property,

Legal research, writing, and advocacy skills, with the ability to quickly grasp and analyse complex issues

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues

A strong client service orientation with genuine interest in people

Great work ethic, respectful and collaborative interpersonal style

Senior Litigation Lawyer | Wellington
We are looking for a senior litigation lawyer with 5+ years PQE to join their Wellington Litigation team. This is your opportunity to join an exceptional law firm that offers quality work.
You will be an experienced litigation lawyer who likes to work autonomously. Your strong client service orientation, and solutions focus will be welcomed by this collegial and collaborative team.
This role offers you the opportunity to work on complex litigation matters as you work closely with all the lawyers in the team with plenty of client contact.
What we’re looking for
- NZ admitted lawyers with a minimum of 5 years’ civil litigation experience
- Ability to develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with clients, including effective and regular communication and to manage and progress a variety of civil litigation matters
- Able to draft legal documents in a concise and effective manner
- To interpret legal advice to each client’s particular case to suit their level of understanding
- Be commercially responsible and fiscally aware, in relation to running files
- Take an active role in working with and mentoring junior staff
- Strong attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Great work ethic, with a respectful, passionate, and collaborative interpersonal style

What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced administrator with a driven attitude to hit the ground running.
The successful candidate will have a collaborative style – which is key to working in this close-knit team. They will be resilient, have excellent communication skills, knowledge of computer programs including Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook, typing and data entry skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask and be self-motivated and trustworthy.
